'People are afraid' - the reasons 'unstoppable force' Arsenal are the squad everyone fears.

There's no doubt why Arsenal stand as countless pundits' preferred choice to claim the Premier League this season.

Look at their results against West Ham and Crystal Palace in contrast with those equivalent matches last season.

The Gunners have defeated all of them in the current season, but dropped 10 points across those games as they fell away in the title race previously.

Impenetrable Rearguard

Arsenal's defensive strength is a crucial element why they are looking well positioned to ultimately achieve their title ambition.

They lead the league for unbreached games (6), goals conceded (3), shots faced (72), dangerous chances allowed (19) and expected goals against (5.3).

The central defensive pairing of Gabriel and William Saliba is possibly the finest in the league, with Arsenal recording a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Excellence

Their effectiveness from free kicks is well known, but opposition teams still find it difficult to contain the Gunners from these chances.

They have registered 11 times from set-pieces in the league, several additional than any other side, with 69% of their goals originating from these situations.

"Arsenal can do a bit of everything now. The whole team has a fear factor. People are just afraid of them and it is excellent to see."

Title Claims

What is especially notable about Arsenal's start to the campaign is they have also faced Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United away from home and Manchester City at home - and are still leading by four at the top.

While they keep winning, their traditional rivals face difficulties. This marks the premier instance at this stage of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The pressure was on boss Mikel Arteta at the outset, having invested around £250m on eight summer acquisitions in quest of that long-awaited first title since 2004.

But the business has so far paid off in impressive fashion, with his side one of the most prolific attacks in the league and boasting the tightest defense, despite numerous injuries.

  • Shutouts in three straight Premier League games
  • 385 minutes without conceding a goal
  • Only a trio of goals in 12 games across all competitions

Former players and analysts have described Arteta's men as a "unstoppable force, looking challenging to stop" with the whole club now operating with conviction and resolve.
